Marti Freund's Gourds and Glass

Marti Freund's Gourds and Glass
Featured in the Fall, 2003 Brewster Society "News Scope", "A new feature in Marti's Gourd Scopes is the object casing that holds the oil wheel. Instead of stained glass she is now casting them out of polyester resin. She first creates a clay model of what she wants it to look like, then pours plaster of paris over it to create the mold. Polyester resin is then poured into the mold to create the casting of the final object casing. To avoid breaking, six different sections of the plaster mold are needed. Many months of experimenting went into perfecting this new technique, but Marti says with great pride that it was well worth the effort. Here are a few of her latest captivating characters.

Although we have sold her "Jupiter", the stained glass, two wheeled kaleidoscopes, we can order one for you. It's definitely worth the wait. We do have two hand held stained glass kaleidoscopes, as pictured below. available for IMMEDIATE shipment.

Marti delighted us with her collection and we think you will be, too. Click on these images and enjoy the pictures.
